Far in the distance the Orient Point ferry glides homeward and Gov’t bell buoy does its frigid bobbing within Fishers Island Sound.

I hear Snowy owl has been sighted in flight possibly “commuting” to and from Race Point these weeks, enjoying the arctic blast.

Perhaps layer up and and be on the lookout when it “warms-up” this weekend.

It’s a balmy 28 degrees here this morning (Jan. 30), but the “Polar Vortex” is gaining on us, and tomorrow should bring predicted high winds and -10 chill factor. So I pedaled up to Hay Harbor Club Golf Course to catch this incredible vista.

The Fishers Island Seagrass Management meeting starts at 1 p.m. at the Ferguson Museum. Helping to sustain our healthy eelgrass habitat for generations to come.
