The Conant family has had lucky close-up views of nature this summer from their waterfront home, just east of Silver Eel Cove: Coyotes, “boiling” water and now a majestic red-tailed hawk.

“This huge [red-tailed hawk] sat on our railing for quite some time today (in the rain), and then took off. My son-in-law, Sol Betancourt, got these great photos!” said Leslie Conant.

“We’ve been seeing mink on our road also, but they move too quickly to get a photo!”
